Every Day Generosity

Your giving makes possible life-changing ministry in the RGV. Giving is an act of thanksgiving and worship, an active expression of our faith. As members of this church, we have promised God our “gifts.” For those of us at McAllen First, that means working towards offering God a tithe, or 10% of our income. As a church, our budget is also designed this way- a tithe of everything you give goes to ministry with those most in need in our community. You can be confident that your giving is changing lives.

Giving in 2023

A letter from our Finance Chair

Dear Church Family,

Together with Pastor Laura, I want to provide you with a financial update of the church in my capacity as Chairperson of the Finance Committee. This summer, the church has continued to have an amazing impact in the community and within our congregation; yet as in prior years, the summer months have shown a decline in giving. Our pastors and staff have done an excellent job keeping our expenses as low as possible. However, there are many expenses that are unavoidable and have continued to rise during this economy. I am confident that the next few months will correct any shortfall in our budget. At the same time, it is going to take a concerted effort from each of us to achieve that correction. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help our church maintain a balanced budget while continuing to perform our very important ministries.

It is with great pleasure that I also announce the upcoming return of a stewardship series. On October 9th, 16th and 23rd, we will have several speakers from our congregation sharing with us their own personal stories of giving. Afterward, there will be an opportunity for each one of us to fill out a pledge card for 2023.

This is an exciting time in our church. It makes me proud to see the return of in-person events and opportunities to worship. And I'm even prouder to see the growth of our ministries outside of our church. Thank you again for considering how you can help, and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our pastors or me at any time.

Many blessings,

Thomas Davidson
