S.E.E.D. Groups

Are you looking for a group of Christians that are interested in growing in faith together, helping each other love God, and sharing life as you do this? Then S.E.E.D. Groups are what you need!

What is a S.E.E.D. Group?

S.E.E.D. Groups are communities of people who Love God and Share how Jesus is actively transforming their lives as they Grow in Faith together, and serve as one of the small group ministries of FUMC McAllen. These groups do not gather together to study scripture or work through a curriculum together but instead focus on mutual accountability to one another, led by a trained S.E.E.D. Group leader.

There are two centerpieces that make S.E.E.D. Groups unique: First, all members will share how God has been active in their life. Secondly, a shared covenant, modeled after John Wesley’s General Rules, will serve as a guide for all members to live by. The goal is that these two key components of the group will indeed foster authentic growth in the lives of all the members as we seek to become a people that Love God, Share Jesus, and Grow Faith.

How do I join?

Joining a S.E.E.D. Group is easy... you just show up! Here is all the info you need:

Bible Studies

A variety of Bible studies and book studies are offered for adults throughout the year to help participants increase in knowledge of the scriptures and spiritual practices and grow in their relationship with God. All are invited to participate in the ministries and studies of FUMC McAllen. Childcare is available during all church programs and events. For more information regarding Bible and book studies, call the church office at 956-686-3784.

Zoom Bible Study

This Bible study meets weekly over Zoom. The current study will meet every Monday (April 17 to May 15), 7:00-8:30pm. We'll be studying and discussing the video series "Teach Us What to Want" by Jen Pollock Michel. Contact Allegra ( ) for more information and the Zoom link!

This is open to everyone and will be relevant to anyone who has looked at their life and wanted more - professionally, in your emotional or physical health, or in personal relationships. It’s also for anyone who has wondered if it is ok to want or desire things; to feel unsatisfied with a part of your life. And ultimately this study is about how God wants good things for us and how want and desire can bring us closer to God.
