Pastor's Perspective
Is it really true? 2018! It seems I only flipped the calendar over to 2017 a few weeks ago. Last year was a whirlwind of activity as we watched years of prayer and faith rise up out of the ground in the shape of a sanctuary to the glory of God and as a tool for being more fruitful in our ministry and mission.
Entering 2017, the Administrative Board set a goal of raising our giving by 5% per year for the next three years. We exceeded that goal in 2017. Thank you for the dedication, sacrifice and faithful stewardship you have shown that has enabled us with God’s help to move forward and turn vision into reality.
The challenge before us is to continue growing our ministry budget in 2018. We will be in our sanctuary in about three months. That, of course, is exciting, energizing and long awaited. Also, it means more expense to operate a growing church. More information about the 2018 ministry plan and goals will be mailed out before the end of January. As is our tradition here, the first Sunday in February is Consecration Sunday. On that day everyone is asked to turn in their estimate of giving cards in gratitude to God and in support of our ministry budget.
This will be an exciting and rewarding year! Mark Palm Sunday, March 25 on your calendars. That is the planned Sunday for dedicating the sanctuary! Watch for more information about that day soon.
