Pastors Perspective

Pastor's Perspective September 2019

by Robert Perales on September 22, 2019

The fall season is an exciting time in the church! With summer ending, and a new school year starting, it is a time in the church when more people are regularly in worship, bible studies and small groups reconvene, and new life is breathed into our church.

It is also an incredibly accessible time to begin doing something new in the life of the church. With many of our small groups and bible studies just getting ready to start anew, there is hardly a better time to jump in. We have mid-week bible studies starting in a few weeks and student ministries that are newly accessible to students just entering elementary, middle, or high school. Ministries like our Motet Choir just started meeting again, and I know Emily’s Meals is always looking for more helping hands to do God’s work in our community. The fall season presents us with new ministry opportunities for discipleship in our own faith journeys, and God is calling us to be the Church!

In a church our size it is often tempting to just be a face in a sea of faces; to blend in with hopes of little to no additional expectations outside of Sunday morning worship. But, we know God wants more from us! This month, on September 4th, we are going to gather together for a Fish Fry Fellowship Dinner. While this is primarily intended as a time of fellowship for the many people that make up our church, it is also going to be an opportunity to learn more about the many ministry opportunities that are fast approaching, and sign up!

We are a church that Loves God, Shares Jesus, and Grows Faith… so let’s not only love God and share Jesus, but grow in our faith together this fall!

 To the Glory of God,

Pastor Robert
