International Mission Trip to Costa Rica

Join McAllen FUMC for an international mission opportunity to Los Chiles, Costa Rica, to serve with Agua Viva Serves.

We will partnering with an official United Methodist Volunteer in Mission (UMVIM) ministry in Costa Rica. The mission is located in Los Chiles, Costa Rica in the Alejuela Province. Agua Viva is a faith-based ministry that provides sustainable clearn water project through community partnering and direct volunteer support in Norther Costa Rica & Souther Nicaragua. There will be many opportunities to serve heavier work, water wells, digging, etc. and lighter tasks such as working and serving with children and Vacation Bible School. WHEN: Spring Break 2026 - Saturday, March 14, through Saturday, March 21, 2026

WHO: Adults and youth (age 12 and older - accompanied by parent)

If you are interested, complete application, initial paperwork, and deposit by Wednesday, December 10.

MISSION COST: The budget for each missioner is $1,900, which covers flights, in-country travel, room (double occupancy), and food. Incidentals and gifts, etc. will be extra. We will be fundraising in the next few months. Funds raised will go to help all missioners equally.

A mission of McAllen First United Methodist Church family: Those going will represent our Church Family in mission. We consider our whole church to be part of this mission, whether you physically go or not! The team will be very intentional of keeping all informed of what is happening before the mission, during and after! Prayers are asked for those going!
